Synopsis:

Opinionated Alf Garnett reeled off a string of misinformed, racist, reactionary opinions each week but his long-suffering wife Else turned a deaf ear mostly.

BSG Review:

Although the show was intended to ridicule such opinions, many wrongly saw it as promoting them. As such, it seemed to provoke strong reactions, both for & against. Some scenes were undeniably funny though, for example the episode in which Else suggests the reason there were no rooms for Mary and Joseph in the nativity was because it was the busy Christmas period.

Notes: American sitcom "All in the Family" was based on this show.
